PROPOSED RECEPTION OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC BISHOP.
In view of the arrival of Archbishop Steins. by the U. omhig mail steamer, a meeting of tl.oKoan.tn Catholic laity of the city was hold yeserday aftern on for the purpose of instituting the ncce's«ary steps for suitably receiving the expected prelate. Dr. Lee presided. After some consideration, the following gentlemen were appointed a reception (.on.uv.ttee, viz. :—i r. Loe, the Hon. P. Digiiai., M.1.C., Messrs J. T. Boylan, W. G. Connolly, G. Leahy, Win. Eyre, J. Cosgravc, E. Loydon, J. Lai-kins, P. Bropliy, Daniel Lynch, P. Darby, W. F. Clifton, and J. Flynn. To this committee, was entrusted the task of preparing au. address and to make the arrangementsfoi the reception. It is understood that, on the arrival of the Rteanierthe Bishop will be escorted by the clergy and such of the laity as are in attendance to the cathedral, wheve a service, of thanksgiving for his safe arrival will bo conducted. In the evening the addressesof the clory, laity, ChristianDoctriue - oeiety,. and Hibernian Benefit Society, willl.be formally presented, when it is expected that the inaugural Speech will be made.
