THE NATIVE MINISTER'S MOVEMENTS.
The Hon.the Native Minister, accompanied by bis Secretary, left by train on Saturday morning for the Waikato in order to meet Rewi. , .Kihikibi was reached at 11, and very shortly afterwards the Ngatimaninpoto chief arrived, as woll as a number ofthe principal settlors of the district. In the course of the interview which ensued it was tacitly agreed that To Wheoro should be requested to stand as a candidate for the Western Maori District, it was also understood that Kewi should address tho settlers ou Wednesday for the purpose of refuting the allegations made regarding the telegrams sent by him to Mr Hamlin. At 5.30 p.m. the Native Minister left for Ohaupo en route for Auckland, which was reached at midnight. To-mo«ow evening Mr Sheehan will address _ a public meeting in Auckland ; then be is to address a, meeting of electors at the Thames, whence he will proceed by way of Ohincini\vi to Tauranga in order to catch the steamer for the South.
