THE NEW COURT HOUSE.
A deputation .consisting of' Messrs T. Wells, Chairman of the Cambridge Town Board, R. Kirkwood, and Hewitt, waited on the Hon J. Sheehan yesterday1, to present a petition for the erection of a Court House.
Mr Sheehan proceeded with the deputation to inspect the present tenement. ,fle said no argument was so effective as a sight of the old Court House. He would refer the. matter to Mr Ncrthcfoft, R.M., to report upon the accomodation required, and tften i Mr Stewart would be instructed to prepare plans and specifications for the erection of' a suitable building. THE POST AND TELEGRAPH OFFICES were likewise visited. Mr Sheehan" agreed that they were totally inadequate to the requirements of Cambridge. He would represent the matter to the Postmastergeneral. RAILWAY EXTENSION TO CAMBRIDGE. This subject was gone into. He agreed with the deputation that it was a desirable work, and one which the Government should at once commence. He suggested that a flying survey should be made,and a petition sent to the House. ROAD TO HOT LAKE. Respecting this road, Mr Sheehan said tho native difficulty which has stood in the way was almost entirely removed ; the men who objected were now in Cambridge. When theyagreed to let the road go through their laud he would at once find the necessary funds. SS!
