ALLEGED BURGLARY.
A YOUNG man named John- Burke was arrested this afternoon at the Governor Browne Hotel by Detective Jell'ery for alleged breaking and entering of the counting-house of Messrs|Colie,|Scott, and Wilkinson, of Wanganui, and stealing therefrom on the 14th of April last. He is stated to have stolen a tin box with the cash box mit, and six £5 notes, eighty-six £1 notes, fifty-six half-spvereigus, a cheque for £15 13s 4d, and £12 4n in gold and silver, Burke has been lodged in. the Auckland lock-up and will probably begrought up and remanded to Wanganui to-morrow morning.
