DRUNKENNESS.—One man was lined for tin's oii'ence.

17NSKEMLY COXDlCT.—Nicholas Mitchell and William Patterson, were charged under the Vagrant Act, with lighting last night iv Victoria-street. The prisoners pleaded guilty ; they were seamen on board the "Star of the North." l'med 10s each, costs, 4s. A Disobedient Apprentice.—Thomas Davidson was charged with a breach of the Master and Apprentice Act, by absenting himself from tiic service of his masters, Messrs. Froscr and linue, on the .10th ult., without leave. Prisoner pleaded guilty. Mr Tinnc did not wish to pi ess the charge against the prisoner unduly, but hoped the Bench would give him such a caution as shall tend to prevent a like occurrence. The Bench desired to know the: ainouut of loss which had been sustained by Messrs. Frasor and Tiuuo. Mr Tiunc estimated tiie loss of time and costs at £2 IGs. The mother of the lad was a widow ; he would, however, if the lad would return to his work, relinquish his claim for loss of time, but in the next case lie should not be disposed to show such leniency. Discharged on payment of costs.

Mrs McCabc, widow of the late James McCabe, contractor, left with live young children, appeared in Court with the view of having her two little girls placed iv the Orphnuugu of St Mary's, McCabe, it appears, died rather suddenly a few weeks since, and left his widow and children iv distressed circumstances.

The Bench committed the children acceordingly, for three and seven years, to be trained iv the faith of the Roman Catholic Church.
