SCHOOL EXAMINATION.
TEflttf examination of the pupils of the Misses Gray's Seminary, Hobson-strfcet, took plaoe on Wednesday, the 18th instant, before a large number of the' parents and friends of the pupils, ■who expressed themselves highly pleased at the progress made under the tuition of these young ladies. An address was delivered by JMi'S Tremain; a duet by the Misses K.dmondsand Tremain, " Madame 'Angot Quadrilles." Ist Class: spelling, reading, English history, geography, grammar, astronomy, mental arithmetic, :&c.; pianoforte duet, Misses Lendrum and Wood. 2nd Class: Spelling, reading, &c. pianoforte solo. Miss Wadham. 3rd Class: SpelJiag, reading, &c.; pianoforte duet, Misses PartTidgo and Edmonds. 4th Class: Spelling, reading, poetry, &c.; duet by Mi?se3 Lend rum. at the conclusion of the examination the pupils performed a drama, entitled "The Duchess Transformed, which was very ■ creditably performed. A song by the Misses Edmonds and Tremain, "• Kathleen Aroon." Prizes were awarded to the Misses Hdmonds. Tremain, Lendrum, Puron, Wood. Miss F. Edmonds, Miss M. Lendrum, Mias Williams, Miss McKvoy, Miss Partridge, Master Edmonds, Master Butler, Miss Wadham. Miss Last. Miss Newmegan, Miss; lingh.es, Masters Hughes, Dempsy, Short, MissMable Short, Miss Townlej : highly commended. Prize for good conduct—drawn for by the Misses McKvoy, Townely. and Sinclair—won by Miss McEvoy. After the prizes were Riven, the pupils presented the Misses Gray with two handsome presents, as a token of their esteem. On Thursday evening the schooi broke up for the holidays with a p«.rty, at which the children enjoyed then;selves, and were highly pleased.
