Bridokt int a Ragr.—Bridget Condroh alias Biddy Williams, was charged with wilfully breaking plates, etc , value 12., the property of William Hobjnson.—Wm. Robinson, labourer^ Of Mills Lane, deposed that prisoner walked into his house deliberately, arid threw a jug- at a visitors head, smashed f our.plates.and a vegetabledish. Shehadno right in his house.'She' was under the influence of drink.—Twjol con-, stables .testified to seeing the prisoner:,drunk and the broken crockery in the room.—Prisoner,, who had nothing to say, was fined 10ff-for drunkenness, and 203 and'amount of daihage' for the second offence, or in default 14 days. .•'■Violent Ass_.u__t.—John. Rae, ayounjg'man,' was charged with using offensive language'and striking Alexander Watson on the __.th.ins_.—-;-Alexander Watson, of West Cook-street, deposed that on returning yesterday from an outing,. he and Mrs Watson sat down to tea, when prisoner came up to the house arid began using insolent language. He_ spoke to him on the im___ propriety ot his conduct, When he rushed into tlie shop, and thrcragn. into the kitcheni Witness asked him what he wanted. He replied, "Drink, and drink I've have, before leavjng the house." He, put. him out and when at the door he struck witness,'and bit his hand.—Mr Wright, gasfitter, next door neighbour, witnessed priifioner's violent conduct, and sentfor a .constable. —Mrs Maxgaret Watson also gave Prisoner's conduct was mOst; unaccountable.' After-Mr Watson put him out, he returned again.—Prisoner said he had been drinkihg/and someone had sto en his watch, which he was hunting for.—Fined 5s for drunkenness, and 40s costs, 16s 6d for the assault, or 14 days. .:. a
Failing to Provide.—William Robinson was charged with failing to.contribute.^wards the support of his children in the Industrial HOme. —Mr Graham said that be had seen defendant, who was agreeable to support the children outside, the Home.—His Worship said defendant had no legal status; and could not take; the children out. He must pay 10a a week, according to on order issued in October, 1872.—This was all the business.
