BOARD OF EDUCATION.—THIS DAY.
At a meeting of the Board of Education this afternoon, it was resolved on the motion of Mr O'Rorke, that the question of transferring an allotment at Onohunga required by the borough for waterworks, should be deferred till the applicants were heard in support. Ihe Board resolved to accept the allotment at Waiotahi, the title haying been reel ifled .-''■'.. A voluminous report giving statistics aa to schools of various descriptions, teachers, etc., was introduced, and portions read by the chairman. The report and returns were adopted py the Board, and it was resolved that they bo sent to the Minister of Education at Wellington, -with the Inspector's suggestions as to the regulations of schools,- and with which the Board acquiesced. On an application for the erection or two hydrants at the City East school at a cost of £iO. it was resolved, "That it is unnecsssary at , present to incur such an expense."
