Twb passenger list of the Wanaka includes the name of Mr R. S. Srnythe, described by the American press as " the most travelled manager in the world," and who introduced Madame Arabella Goddard, Miss Christian, and other artistes to this country. He was last here with the l!ev Charles Clark, and having accompanied that gentleman to Uie Centennial, and through the United States and Canada, he returned to the colonies by the Lusitania, to arrange another toiir for the eminent lecturer. It was in Auckland, nearly three years ago, that Mr Clark commenced that brilliant platform career which induced him to <*ive ixp pulpit ministrations, except in aid of some charitable object; raid during that interval, in Australia, America, and England, according to the Christian World, his reception has been equally enthusiastic with that acoordedgto him in this country. Since lie was last here, Mr Clark has made several additions to his list of entertainments, which now includes lectures on the Tower of London, Ckarles Dickens (two lectures), Oliver Goldsmith, Christmas in Old England, Thackeray, Oliver Cromwell, Westminster Abbey, the Merrie Monarch, and Macaulay. The last five lectures have not been delivered in New Zealand. Mr Clark is expected by the California mail steamer, so that lie Avill probably lecture in the Choral Hall next week.
