COROMANDEL.
(From our own Correspondent.) v This day. New 3fiad — Groat Excitement. There has been great excitement all the morning in consequence of the reef of the lona having been struck last night, from which a quantify of rich golden stone has been obtained.,.., This find will result m the Golconda and other mines being re-worked, or fresh claims marked out. There is now known to be a lead of gold from the Union Beach. It is the cross lode of the Union Beach which is supposed to have been struck. The reef is eighteen inches thick. The Kapanga. The Kapanga raised 2001b of golden stone yesterday. One piece of stone weighing a hundred weight. The reef is looking SP The kitchen chimney of Uncle-Hotel has cauaht fire whilst I am writing this, causing considerable alarm. Very little damage is done' The "Mail." The Coromandel Mail re-appears on Wednesday next. The business and mining interests would not allow the Mail to fall through, and in one day subscribed as much as will place it on its legs again.
