The Wool Sales.

The wool sales closed on May 6, when 230,000 bales were catalogued. Foreign biddings was animated throughout. The average prices shewed a fall compared with February sales of ten per cent. Since th Easter holidays good washed fleece is somewhat dearer. Other sorts receded ljd to 2d. The next series of sales are fixed to commence June 20, when arrivals will exceed 300,000 bales.

Wheat is dull; New Zealand, 48s to 51s. Arrived—Waimea and St. Leonards.
