Fire at Papatoitoi.
A fire occurred at Papatoitoi yesterda* morning about two o'clock, by which th cottage of a labourer named Stodart, in «.'■'" employ of Mr McLaughlin, was burnt to tha ground. The cottage was situated on v- \ McLaughlin's farm, and belonggj* tL y, j gentleman. At the time of__.t-_g. -ftm_ Stodart and his wife were asleep if_-W " They did not discover their peril till the fita had gained too firm a hold to be put out, and they had no time to rescue any of their' p__., sonal effects, with the exception of two bell', toppers, which they snatched up in theij precipitate flight. The house was insured in the New Zealand Office for £150. -
