v THE PROPOSED DOCKS. JJ» Errington wrote stating that he would ffed forthwith to survey the site at Spe Point, and make a report as to its 2% for a dock. Mr Errington intir*4 that his cost for plans, specifications, be 5 per cent, on constructed A and in the event of nothing being "J about £150. Q Buchanan Btated that to-morrow was jw surveying the site at Calliope Point. MoKenzie said thai Mr grange, who was a practical mas, had interned him that the drains would do little Booa ; a wall was the only thing that would oe effective. Mr O. Mays thought that the Parnell tfoard should pay part of the coßt. There was a special clause in the Act which enabled *m to use the rates for the purpose. Messrs. Buchanan and McKenzie were of opinion that the Board should do the work Mr Coss;rave proposed that the Board should contribute £300 and the Parnell -Board £100 towards the drrinage. It was ultimately settled that the subject be referred to the Works Committee to report upon. HFALTH OF AUSTRALIAN VESSELS. The Chairman said that in accordance with a repuest from His Honor the Superintendent as Chairman of the Central Board of Health, be had given instructions to the Chief Harbour Master to enquire as to the health of passengers and crew of vessels coming in from Australia. ACCOUNTS. The following accounts were ordered to be paid : —General account, £2492 os. Sd. ; loan account, £1089 Gs. Total, £3581 Cs Sd. STATEMENT OF FUNDS. To balance in bank, £2474 13s. 9d. ; cash m hand, £15 15s. 7d. Total, £2490 9s. 4d. Accounts ordered to be paid, £2125 14s. 7d Balance, £3G4 14s. 9d. Loan Account • Balance in bnnk, £5920 ss. 2d. ; accounts to be paid, £10S9 6s. Total, £7830 19s. 2d. SALAEIEM. The Finance Committee submitted the following draft of salaries of the officers for the ensuing year :—Chairman, £200 ; Secretary and Treasurer, £400; Clerk, £165Clerk, £175; Clerk. £90; Toll Collector, £286; Engineer, £450; Cadet, £50; Chief Harbour Master, £350; .Assistant Pilot, £220 ; Assistant Pilot, £200 ; Signalman, £120 ; Chief Boatman, £120 ; Boatman, £102; Boatman, £102; Harbour Master, £300; Assistant Wharfinger, £175. This list of salaries was agreed to :— The other business was unimportant.
