' A telegram from Adelaide announces the arrival of the steamer Edinburgh with shore end of New Zealand cable;
t The Hero sails on Wednesday. A fire in the Evening News and Town ttnd Country Journal Office on the 13th, destroyed property value £5000 to £0000. There were policies over the whole buildings amounting to £9,250, including one of £2000 in the New Zealand Office. Lieutenant Le Patorrel had a quarrel with a brother officer in the New South Wales Artillery, when the other threw an empty bottle, wounding Lieutenant Le Patorrel severely on the head. The officer has had his commission cancelled.
