A great explosion took place at a wharf at Bremerhafen,' a seaportjat the mouth.of the Weser, by which 70 people were killed and 100 injured. The perpetrator has confessed that it was a plot to sink the steamer Mosel for the sake of getting the insurance. The Northern Powers have agreed to certain reforms in Turkey, but in the meantime the Sultan has taken the initiative and proclaimed the legal equality of his subjects. The tenders for the Queensland loan of £1,000,000, at 4 per cent, amounted to £1,250,000, chiefly at 91, the minimum price.
