POLICE COURT.—This Day.

Before G. M. Mitford and G. S. Graham, Esquires, Justices of the Peace. DISTRACTED GLOBES, William Laverty and James Dellachy were charged with being drunk last night, aad fined 5s each. SHELTERED FOR THE NIGHT. William Swain and Thomas O'Day were charged with being found in an outhouse in Customhouse-street last night, without lawful excuse. Mr Inspector Broham asked for a remand until to-morrow, in order that enquiries might be made into their antecedents. Remanded accordingly. HENTCy HIBBERT'S PERFORMANCES. Henry Hibbert, a young man, was charged with misbehaving himself in "Vulcan Lane in such a manner as to cause a breach of the peace. Detective George Jeffrey deposed that prisoner was causing a great disturbance yesterday in Vulcan Lane, and expressed, a desire in uncouth terms to have a round with Mr Burton, of the Occidental Hotel. The man pleaded guilty. Ho was. drunk and did not know what he was doing. Fined 20s and costs, or » fortnight's imprisonment. PARENTAL NEGLECT. figgS John Johnson appeared in answer to a summons charging him with failing to contribute towards his two children, Herbert and William, now in the Howe-street Industrial School. . Defendant said he had been ill in the hospital, and had been unable to render the necessary assistance, but would do so as soon as possible. The Bench ordered 23 61 per week each, and allowed defendant a week to procure employment. A WILD BOY. George Kelly, a boy of ten years, was charged with absconding from the Naval Training School, Kohimarama, on the 12th inatant. . Mr Broham said this was the third time the boy had absconded, and he had previously ran away from the Industrial Home. The boy said he could not get enough to eat. Mr Broham said it was quite the reverse, the boys were too well fed. The Bench ordered him to be sent back and undergo a sound whipping. SONS OF THE WAVE. William Soane and William Thomas were charred wish absenting themselves withont leave from the British barque Witch of the Wave, on the 20th instant. The men pleaded guilty, they had taken a drop but meant no harm. The^captain was willing to take them back and the men were willing to return.

The Bench ordered them back and to forfeit two days' pay. This was all the business.
