FUNERAL OF COMMODORE GOODENOUGH.

The "whole ! city, seems to have been in mourning, and thousands pf spectators were present at the last, solemn rite.?. The Sydney Morning Herald gives t.he following particulars of the scene in the cemetery:—" Mrs Ooocleaougb, as chief mourner, with the two children, each carrying beautifuHyiWroughfe wreaths of flowers followed ths remains towards the grave, which, were also accompanied by the chaplain of the Pearl, and the Bishop of Sydney, his Excellency the Governor and suite, Captain: Sastinga and Mr Stanley, and the members of the Ministry ■*,}&<! a few others. The graves lie side by sifto—that of the Commodore being the C9fltral one, the grave of seaman Earner lying to the ; righ*;, aud that ox seaman Small to *;he left of the Commodore'r,. The. coffins, having been decorated vriih' flowers by loving hands, wares gently lowered into their last resting pl&ca The impressive funeral service .of th(9 OhurcE of England was read by the chaplain of H.M.S. Pearl, the whole scene being one of deep solemnity. Many present were greatly affected, especially the men who had been so lately under the Commodore's command. The benediction was prononneed by the Bishop of Sydney, and three volleys having been fired by a company of men from the Sappho aud Pearl, the vast assemblage, which numbered some thousands, dispersed.
