Dinner to a Bank Manager. A complimentary dinner was given to Mr Buchanan, late manager of the Bank of Australasia. It was a great success. There was a_ large attendance of leading men of this city, both constituents of bank and private friends. Among other toasts, that of Mr 7V* account»nt of the bank, was drunk, •nd hopes expressed that he would be appointed manager in Mr Buchanan's place. Mr bawera i 8 much respected. It is reported tnatitis intended to present Mr Buchanan withateatimonial. The leading merchants »re offanng to head the list with £25 each.
