The harvest throughout the district looks splendid. The Tauranga races take place on the 20th. It is the sole subject engrossing public attention.
The Southern Cross started for Auckland last night
Brown, late doctor of the constabulary, has just been brought before the Resident Magistrate charged with vagrancy, and endeavouring to obtain clothing by false pretences. He was sentenced to eight days' imprisonment.
