THE WOOL SALES.
The following items are additional to the cable messages published in our supplement to-day : —
London, November 19. At the London colonial wool sales thi opening competition ia well maintained. We have received the following telegram from the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, dated London, Nov. 18 : •• The wool sales opened at the level of last sales, and comprise about 88,000 bales; 7000 bales have been sent to the manufacturing districts direct. For Cape of Good Hope scoured the market is easier." Copper is steady and firm. Chili is quoted at £88' to £89; Wallaroo at £96 10a. Tin is firm, and prices hardening. Straits, £94 : Australian, £93 10s.
