BUEGXAUY ON THE NELSON SOUTH-WEST Goldeielbs.—lnformation reached the police at Half-Ounce, on the morning of Tuesday, the 13th, that the store of Mr. James Magoffin, at tho Upper Township, hud been burglariously entered during .tho previous night, and cash to the amount of about i29o°abstracted. At about the same time the intelligence was brought to the Police Camp at the place that a sawyer, named Koche, a foreigner, had been robbed of his purse, which.contained, according to his statement, a deposit on the London Chartered' Bank, Melbourne, for £2700, together with numerous promissory notes and 1.0.U5. He also says lie lost a silver, 'hunting watch, with massive gold albort guards and'appendages. The matter is in the hands of the police, who are making every enquiry into it.— Greg River Argus.
