CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday.
A large and influential meeting was held to-day of persons interested in flax preparation. A committee was appointed to consider the best process; and fclie Superintendent (chairman), at the request of the meeting, has telegraphed to the General Government, asking them to instruct Messrs. Featherstou and Bell to inspect machinery at home and report thereon.
