POLICE COURT.—This Day.
(Before T. B. Kenderdine, Esq., and S. Kemptborae, Esq., J.P.'s.) DHUNKENNESS. Robert Wood was fined ss. and costs fov ttils offence, or to be imprisoned for 24 hours with havd labour. Anne Lewis, on bail, charged with the same offence, did not appear, and forfeited bail. DRUNK AND DISOEDEKT/ST. Edward Livingstone, charged with this offence, pleading guilty, was fined 20s. with costß, or to be imprisoned 48 hours. W. Charles O'Malley, charged with the same offence, failed to appear, and forfeited bail. Eiehard Dougherty pleaded guilty of tho same offence, and was fined 205., or to be imprisoned 48 hours. THREATENING IANO-TTAiJE. Margaret M'Cann was charged with having, on the 13th April, used threatening language towards Amelia Williams, and thereby putting her in bodily fear. Amelia Williams deposed: I am the informant in this case. I was passing by Margaret M'Cann's place on the 13th April, when she vised tome bad language and threw a basin at me, also a brick, and said she would dash my brains out, and struck me with a large piece of tin on the stomach. lam afraid she will do me some harm if not restrained ; she has threatened me several times. To prisoner : I said to you civilly, why did you say so and so about me? You did not say you would give me satisfaction. Never called j Oa a 5 diJ u ot call you the names mentioned. John Haly, deposed: I know the parties. Saw the defendant take up a brick and threaten Amelia Williams, and strike her on the breast wi!h a piece of block tin. Prisoner stated that complainant had challenged her to fight, and attributed her frequent appearance before the Bench to a conspiracy among her neighbours, who were, she alleged, of a low class. Ordered to find two sureties in £20 each, to keep the peace for three months, or be imprisoned for the same time. LA.BCENY. Patrick Dunn was charged by Mary Burke with having feloniously stolen and taken away from her on the Bth May, 1 carpet bag, 1 cloak, 1 pair of trousers, 1 Crimean shirt, of the total value of £4 4s. Mavy Burke, deposed : I keep a boarding house in Albert-street; have lost the articles enumerated; last saw them in the bedroom, that evening, prisoner was in the place that day. The prisoner has now got on the trousers and the Crimean shirt then lost; those articles were all taken at the same time. Prisoner stated that he was guilty of taking the trousers and shirt but nothing else. Mr. Naughton stated that prisoner was well known to the police having been convicted twice for larceny, for obscene language, &c. Sentenced to four months' imprisonment with hard labour.
