SHOW AT CHORLTON

SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION

There was a large attendance at the Chorlton Hall yesterday when the Little Akaloa-Chorlton Womens' Division held their annual show. In view of the late season there was a wonderfur display of flowers, though the roses were practically absent from the exhibits. There was a good entry in the vegetable section also considering the backward season. The cookery and needlework sections were both well filled and the standard of the exhibits very high. A feature of the show were the three miniature gardens on plates and the exhibitors had been at great pains to produce such excellent exhibits. The children's classes were well filled also.

The judges were as follows

Mr W. H. Davis—Flowers and vegetables; Mr F, Davis: Cookery; Mesdames P. G. Riches and Leo. Morrison : needlework

The following acted as stewards
