BANKS PENINSULA A. AND P. ASSOCIATION

GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING

A meeting of the geneial committee of the above association was held at Little River on Saturday last. Those present were Mr J. E. V. Chapman (president, in the chair), Messrs V. Craw, D. Anderson, E. E. Patten, J. Daniels, H. T. Chapman, A. V. Hutchinson, J. J. Fly mi, K. H. Parkinson, N. Wright, A. W. Harris, T. Mould, H. Lewthwaite. J. T. Robinson, S. S. Barclay and S. W. Birdling. • Apologies were received from Messrs A. A. Hutchinson, C. Norman A. J. Thomson and T. Stewart. Messrs H. McKay (Little River), W. Newton (Little River), and lan Parkinson (Ataahua) junior, were elected members of the Association. Correspondence was received from Department of Agriculture, P. Burke and Co., City of Christchurch Highland Pipe Band, Beath and Co., N.Z. Pig Breeders' Association, Little River Domain Eoard, H. Matson and Co., and C. M. C. Wilson. The Department of Agriculture wrote advising the Ashociation that the incorporation had been completed. Mr T. Mould moved that the secretary be instructed to procure a Common Seal to be affixed to all documents of the Association, seconded by Mr K. H. Parkinson and carried. Resignation Mr C. M. C. Wilson wrote tendering his resignation because of his enlistment to the forces. Mr V. Craw moved that all members who are called up, be accepted as honorary members of the Association for the duration of the war and that their names be included in the catalogue as Hon. members; seconded by Mr H. T. Chapman and carried. Loud Speaker It was decided not to have a loud speaker for thi- year's Show. Ribbons Mr H. T. Chapman moved that the necessary be procured seconded by Mr V. Ciaw and carried.

Advertising Mr H. T. Chapman moved that the same amount of advertising be done as last year; seconded by Mr K. H Parkinson and carried. It was decided to have a notice erected at the tents notifying exhibitors that exhibits must not be removed until after 3.30 p.m. on Show Day. Weight Guessing Competition The Secretary was instructed to write to Mr E. Hunt, Wainui with regard to the holding of a weight guessing competition at the Show.
