St. PETER'S CHURCH BRANCH . The annual meeting of the Akaroa branch of the Mothers': Union was held in the Parish Hall on' W ednesday afternoon. This meeting commenced by a-special ..order of- service conducted' by 'Mrs Petrie, E=M. a- course of Bible reading.' The .'.address was followed by special prayers. Archdeacon Petrie took the chair for the annual (meeting. The annual report: and balance sheet were presented and adopted. The fol- ■- lowing officers were elected Enrolling Member—Mrs Petrie. Secretary—Mrs W. Jacobson. Treasurer—Mrs E. May. Committee—Mesdames P. G. Armstrong, F. C. Newton, B. W.' Henning, C. D. Sealey/ W. H. Taylor, T. Masefield, G. M. Kearney and H. Woddill. Votes of thanks were passed to the Secretary and Treasurer, Mesdames Riches and Gabbott. Mrs Petrie was presented with a bouquet from the members and a bouquet was also presented to Mrs Gabbott in recognition of her services, j The Wainui members and Mrs White, formerly a member of the Feridalton branch were welcomed by Mrs Petrie. Thanks were also expressed to Mrs Knubley, Christchurch, for reports of Council meetings.
