AKAROA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
SUCCESSFUL GARDEN PARTY A very successful garden party was held yesterday in Mr R. Bruce's beatiful grounds when all manner of. competitions were held and several stalls. A very delightful afternoon tea was served. The result of the afternoon was very successful from a financial point of view. The following were those in charge of the stalls and the competitions — Refreshment Stall—Mesdames A. E. Kingston, W. Pool, E. H. Giddens, R. Woodill, Misses M. Kingston, S. Dalbeth, Morven Pool and Coral Giddens. Scalliwag—Mr A. F. C. Williamson. Putting Mr R. Brace. Clock Croquet—Mrs C. Dalbeth. Mickey Mouse Quoits —Mrs W. Thompson. Nail Driving Mrs W. R. Bartle Sweet Stall and Soft Drinks—Mesdames R. Bruce and Mrs R. Narbey and Miss Branney. B<> jl; and Work Stall Sister E. J. White. The results of the competitions were :— Scalliwag—Mr K. H. Fountain. Croquet Squares—Miss S. Dalbeth Clock Golf—Mrs F. C. Newton. 1 Mickey Mouse Quoits —Mr W. Thompson. Nail Driving (Men) —Mr K. H. Fountain: (Ladies) —Miss Joy Ferry.
