Delegates from each of the four cricket clubs on the Peninsula, Littki River, Okai'n's Bay, Wainui and Akaroa will nuet at: an- early date when it is proposed to have a series of matches in which each 1 club will play twice or three tiir«3s against each club during the season. It is considered that in arranging these games in this way the standard of play will 1 ,be considerably improved. It might also toe- the means of encouraging players to form clubs in other parts of the district. There is no d'oubt that by instituting a competition the game will! be put on a much/ better basis and it will encourage young players to participate. With matches arranged ahead players will also have an incentive to practice and this should improve the standard of the gams here considerably. There are a nun>ber of young. men leaving schooi: every year now with a good kntwledge of the game and the arlangement of matches should l make the game more interesting for them. The delegates will meet within the next week or so when the games for the season will be decided upon.
