I FURTHER: METTING TO BE HELD j | A meeting of delegates of the Peninsula schools called- by the instigation cf the Pigeon Bay school Com mi-ttee was held at Duvauchelle on Friday when the following - schools -were represented:—Pigeon Bay, Du-[va-uchelle, Rcbinson's Bay, Takamatua, Akaroa, Le Bon's and Wainui. : Pert Levy and Puaha school com,mittees sent apologies. | iMr Geo. Mackay acted as chainr.nn cf the meeting. j In outlining the proposal the j Pigeon Bay delegates said- the circu- | hi.r letter forwarded to committees , practically covered, the whole of the i proposals, viz.: To support the policy of individual committees in matters of common interest and to ■ bring them into closer cooperation , and 1 relationship. It was pointed out that Country schools did not receive j the same treatment as that meted , out to town schools. The Ed-uca-j t;onal authorities were making" a de- ! finite move towards agricultural instruction i'n the Syllabus and' it was hoped the lull advantage of this would' be felt as its application meant :-o much to the country the expo, i ts of which represented !)5'7 of ihe whole. The isolation of ! the Peninsula, and its hilly country; made it difficult to get about.
