Sargeant, Apairy inspector, Christchurch, appeared on behalf of the Department and each defendant was fined 20s and 7s court Allan E. B. Goodwin (Mr Holmes) was charged with not returning mili--1 tary clothing the property of the Canterbury Mounted Rifles "to the value of £3 4s 3d. He was ordered to pay the sum and costs, £2 4s 6d JUDGEMENT BY DEFAULT. Judgment by default was given in the case H. J. Barnham (Mr Holmes) v. J. McLeod, claim £5 11s 3d and costs £1 5s 6d
