PENINSULA ELECTRICAL SCHEME.
To the Editor. Sir, Could you enlighten me through the medium of your columns on the following points. .1. What remuneration is to be paid to the Engineer for his work in connection with the scheme ? 2. What posts are to be used in. the work ? The point I wish to clear is this : -Hardwood posts being scarce, in order to push on with the work I understand posts of inferior quality are to be used. Some mention I understand has been made with regard to macrac-arpa and rumour has it that experiments arc to be carried out with bamboo. As no doubt a great part of the cost of the scheme will be charged to posts, I feel a definite statement is due about this much discussed point.—Yours, etc., FIRST COST ONLY COST.
