PENINSULA ATHLETIC SPORTS.

Thase jports take place on Monday next, Empire l-ay, commencing at II a.m., and it is expected they will be well attended, and that competition will be keen in tho event of the weather being favourable. The half mile handicap has been made a i post entry event, closing at 10 o'clock, on ■ the morning of the sports, and this promilM to be well competed for, four being already entered, and several others stating thftt they intend to do co.
