FOOTBALL.

AKAROA. The seventh annual general meeting of this Club was held at ihe < oddfellows' Hall on Thursday, 11th March. About 18 Qiembers were present, Worship the Mayor in the ch«ir. In the absence of the previous minutes- , , business was proceeded with. The following members were elected • . —T. Hyan, M. Kearney V, Lelievrn, S. ! Wright, F. Fruer. The following report was read :— Gentlemen, —In 'presenting the report on the working of the Club for the past year your Committee may fairly congratulate yon on a most successful season both financially and in the fluid. The balance-sheet shows, after meeting all liabilities, a small credit balance, while the first fifteen was successful in carrying off the Peninsula Cup. 'Ihe usual annual match with the Curistchurch Club wns played at home, and for the first time since the formation of the club victory rested with our team The (Jhristchurch team was not quite so strong as usual, but the result was very decided, the score being 88 points to nil. Of eight matches played for the Peninsula cup, six were won nnd two lost. Tlio total pciuts Bcored during the competition was 105 for the Club and §2 against. The total number of matches played was 14, of which 10 were won, one drawn and three lost. The total points scored were for Club 174, against 42. The second fifteen played one match with Wuirowa second, which they won by 17 points to three. We are sorry to report that owing to Insufficiency of funda, the annual sports in coenection with the Club, had to be abandoned, the Committee preferring the step to running into debt. Your Committee, however, suggest that the sports be held this year as soon as possible to entourage members to get into training before t\w opening of the season. Mr Tripo moved and Mr Vangioni seconded that it \a the wish of this Club lhat the Canterbury Rugby Union take over the management of the Peninsula Cup competition, and that the Club's delegates be ao instructed. (Carried). On the motion of Mr Wight, seconded by Mr GoodwiD, Messrs Vanjnoni and Tripe were elected delegates to- Peninsula Association. It was resolved that the colours be changed to scarlet. A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the proceedings.
