Tokio, June 17.
A hundred and fifty shocks of earthquake were experienced iv twenty-four hours in the Northern provinces of the principal islands of Japan, aud were followed by a tidal-wave. Several towns and village;-; were, destroyed, and the loss of lift' was enormous. Over a thousand people have been killed.
