The criminal sittings of tho Supreme Court we c oneu?d before His Honour Mr Justice Deimiston this morning Frederick Cooper pleaded guilty to three charges of forgery, sad was sentenced to four yeisrs' imprisonment. James Pearson, a li-.d, {leaded guilty to housebreaking, and was sentenced to be imprisoned for twelve months, John Houghton pleaded guilty to breaking and entering the premises of the Farmers* Co-opera-tive Association, and waa .sentenced to two years'imprisonment. Henry Bam-tt Rose, a young man, pleaded guilty to housebreaking and robbery under arms at New Brighton, and received a sentence of eighteen months' imprisonment, Robt. McEvny pleaded guilty to breaking and entering at Lyttelton, and was sen'onced to nine months' imprisonment. London, May 31. A petition is buiri't got up, asking th.it tha loaders and all the Reformers should bo released upon payment of fines. President Krusccr in replying to Mr Barnato, (-aid that lie was doing his utmost to obtain a mitigation of tho sentences, nnd that he would pursuo a righteous course. Capktow.v, May 31. Phillips, of the Reform Committee, denies the existence of the letter alleged to have bean written by him, suggesting the bribery of tho judge.
