LOYAL PERSEVERANCE LODGE
BARRY'S BAY,
The following ara extracts from the report on the above Lodge by George Leslie Et>q , Public Valuer :— " I beg to congratulate the Lodge on tho position disclosed by this valuation. Five years ago the valuer, Mr Wiggins, had to report a deficiency of £58 16d 2d, or an average of £3 13s 6d per member, and it is a pleasure to me to find that by the same method of valuation there ia now a surplus of £9 16a for every member in the Lodge." •' You start now with a moderate surplus, your scale of contributions is one of the best in the Colony, and with an average experience and fairly good management every member miy enjoy reasonable security that his claims will be met in full when they fall due." " Before concluding I would take the liberty of calling your attention to the close and profitable investment of the funds Your conduct during the past five years hag been commendable in this particular, but I regret to find that At the date of valuation almost one third of your capital was not bearing any interest. Let me remind you that in this valuation it in assumed that interest at the ra'e of four per cent at least shall be realised on the total capital of the lodge, and if you do ; not give effect to this assumption then there is little bope that the favourable results I have exhibited will be mam* tained."— Advt.
