AKAROA BOROUGH SCHOOL.

A meeting of this Committee was held on Tuesday. Present— -Meeere Henning, A. Wright, Penrose, end Staples. In the absence of the ohairman Mr Henning presided. The minutes of the previous meeting were read i< nd oonfirmed. The following accounts were passed for payment:—P. Brown, £2 Oa 10d ; A. Kaarst, 17s 3d ; salaries and incidentals, £418a4d. R. Qood win's account, £1 6s 6d. to stand over till next meeting. Mr Henning reported visiting the school last month, and finding everything in splendid order, worthy of ft man-of-war. Miss Dawber wanted a clock in her »oom. He begged to move—"That a dock be procured, not to cost more than 125." Seconded by Mr Penrose and carried. It was resolved that Mies Armstrong be granted a holiday on the following day in j consequence of her eieter'e marriage. I Correspondence was read from Board of Education re election of three members in lieu of those' retiriag. It wee resolved to | vote for Messrs Montgomery, Wright, and Good. , •■! Apologies were rend from Messrs Dodds and Woonan for absence in consequence of illness, and from Mr Vangioni, who was unavoidably absent in CUrietoburch.

Messrs Vangioni and Staples war* appointed Visiting Committee for the month. The children's picnic v to be deferred till after the examination.
