Taa Lcwal District High Sebvl »'•«<»- mittee met on December 3rd. Present: Messrs G. Campbell (chair). Hull. Noblo Mitbias Hewitt and Haanay (secretary). Headmaster reported the average attendance for the month to be 186 out &f * roil numbering IP". Susabex of names to he put on the yebjol roll of honour to be ascertained and forwarded to Mx Cahle, secretary of the OH Boys' Association. Port Coalnu.-r--Letter of appreciation to he sent to the headmaster and staff oi tin- school, on the very satisfactory report received from the inspeetora. Information to hr ohtaiued from the Life Saving Association. Vune>lin. re the teaching of children in life saving. Discussion took place re tie '•est system to adopt in the awarding of prizes. The present system of nearly all the prizes going to the naturally clever children was considered by some memberof the committee to ho unsatisfactory. A rote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting.
