DUUGAN ■ ■ Secretary, (Address) Matakanui. ; It may not ; be generally kinown that the vote for No-license in Tuapeka was much larger than former years, and that Nolicense was only 308 votes behind the necessary three-fifths majority. Altogether 4198 '- valid V6tes were recorded, and 2519 votes were required to be cast in order to make Tuapeka a "dry area," whereas the actual ,yot<j for No-license was 2211. In Tuapeka i in 1905 the vote for No-license was 1832, whilst that for Continuance was 2183. In Tuapeka) 1655 votes were cast for Continuance, and 1691 for No-license. The vote for Continuance in Tuapeka at the recent elections was 1947.
