The follovying business of local interest was transacted at last week's meeting of the Waste Lands Board : District Surveyor Wilmot reported ir regard to the capital value of section 30, block 111, Kawarau district. - The report was received, and the capital value iised at 3 2/6 per acre. Thomas George Govan, applied for an occupation lease under " The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act, 1894," over 50 acres in block IX, Leaning Book District.—The luase was granted .subject to the channel rights referred to by the warden; to be defined on the survey. Banger O'Neill reported on the application by Thomas Henry Duck for an occupation lease under " The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act, 1894," over 50 acres in block VI, Lauder district, on the flat between the cemetery and Thompson's Creek. —The matter was held over pending an inspection by the langer, The license of William Leask, Tiger Hill, 653, was declared to have lapsed, through non payment of rent.
