Ik will scarcely be necessary to remind oar readers that the first, show under the auspices of the Oentral Otago Poultry Olub takes piece in the Alexandre town hall on Saturday next. The ereretary informs us that 220 entries ha ♦« »l eady been received, and it is safe - ,?edict that the show will be a diithivw/ successful onemuch more so, indeed, than the most sanguine- of the promoters dared to anticipate. The entries include nominations from all parte of the district, as well as a number from Dunedin— Alexandra fanciers being also laigely represented. We hear highly favorable comments as to the high quality of the birds that are to be exhibited, and those who are in any way interested in the raising of poultry should avail themselves of the educational advantages that a visit to the show will afford, The pens to be used at the show have been procured from Dunedin, and in every way the committee are sparing no effort to make the best possible arrangements for exhibitors end the public alike, The show will be opened at S p.nn by His Worship the Mayor (Mr Geo. Spencer), The judging will be in of Mr B Rcilly, who acted in a similar capacity at the late Ohcistchureh poultry show, and who is considered to be one of the beat judges an the Colony.
