PROCESSION PLANNED
LABOUR WEEK-END FUNCTIONS Labour week-end, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, October 21, 22 and 23 bids fair to be the most memorable for many years, which is hut fitting in view of the fact that it is Centennial year. A big sports meeting on Saturday, a combined religious service on Sunday, and a procession on Monday should provide interest for old and young. The Junior Chamber of Commerce, which has undertaken responsibility for the procession, advises that it has secured the support of rl'any firms, so that floats in the procession should number between 20 and 30. In addition there will be three bands parad ing, and decorated bicycles, novelties such as penny-farthing machines, with parades of youth organisations should make an interesting and colourful pageant. Those who remember old-time Labour Day processions, and who recall the fine turn-out on V-E Day, are assur--9d that Monday next will see the “best yet.”
