BLACK WATCH BAND
VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND NEXT YEAR (Rec. 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 17. J. C. Williamson Theatres announc* ed to-day that Britain’s famous Black. Watch Band will tour New Zealand and Australia early in 1951 on the invitation of the Prime Ministers, the Rt. Hon. S. G. Holland and Mr R. G. Menzies. The band will spend six weeks in New ZealandThe Blackwatch, formed in 1739, is the oldest Royal Highland Regiment. The present hand, which consists of 42 instrumentalists and four pipers is now serving with the British Army of Occupation on the Rhine. The War Office has granted it leave from Germany.
