Mr D. G. McCallum, manager of the Palmerston North branch of the Union Bank, and, some years ago, a member of the staff of the Ashburton branch, is a visitor to Ashburton.
Congratulations to Mr Charles Hilgendorf, on being awarded a Nuffield Scholarship, were extended at yesterday afternoon’s meeting of the general committee of the Ashburton A. and P. Association.
Messrs E. J. Marshall (president) and G. A. K. Kelly (director) will represent the Ashburton Junior Chamber of Commerce at the seventh annual convention of the New Zealand Junior Chambers of Commerce, starting in Christchurch on Friday and concluding on Monday.
