MILD AND OVERCAST j . The weather in v Ashburton to-day has been dull and overcast, with temperatures mild. Recordings taken at 9 o’clock this morning were: —Maximum temperature 60.6 degrees, minimum 47.0 degrees, earth 48.6 ijegrees, barometer 29.86 inches. The sun shone for 4.35 hours yesterday.
OUTLOOK FAIR (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: — General situation: A deep depression is passing Campbell Island and there are anti-cyclones over the Tasman Sea and east of the North Island. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Gamaru to midnight to-morrow is:— Moderate south-westerly winds tomorrow; weather cloudy and cool, with some scattered drizzle or rain, but clearing from the south during tomorrow. ‘ Outlook —Saturday: Fair.
