Mr Ernest Brown, a former British Cabinet Minister, and Mrs Brown arrived at Auckland by the Aorangi on Tuesday. They will arrive in Christchurch on October 27, and will attend the Baptist Union Assembly.— P.A. Dr. J. A. Meade, medical superintendent of the Stratford Public Hospital, has been appointed assistant director of the Hospitals Division of the Health Department. His resignation, which will take effect in three months, was accepted by the Stratford Hospital Board yesterday.—P.A.
