RECORD PRICE FOR WETHERS The highest price ever secured at a local stock sale, according to authorities, was paid to-day for a pen of four wethers offered on account of Mr E. S. Barnes (Coldstream). Bidding for this pen was brisk and it was not until. the price reached £5 Os Id that it was finally knocked down to an Ashburton butcher. Prices for wethers showed a rapid rise, transactions being carried out at 8s to 10s higher than prices secured last week, with some excellent quality fats being offered in this section.

Top price of 59s Id for ewes was secured by A. Sim (Carew). The range of prices was: Wethers, extra prime to £5 0s Id, prime 72s to 82s.
