BIG FOREST FIRE
FOUR TOWNS TO BE EVACUATED
NEW YORK, Aug. 20.
The evacuation of four towns in the Pine Valley settlement, California, was ordered to-day when a forest fire swept into the Cleveland National Forest.
The fire, which had been burning in the Laguna mountains, 50 miles east of San Diego, for several days, was reported to be under control last night but fresh winds this morning swept flames over the firebreaks into the Cleveland National Forest, where it is reported to be raging and out of control.
The evacuation of Pine Hills, Harrison Park, Laguna, and Cuyamaca Lake was ordered.
Approximately 70,000 acres of forest and 28 homes have been destroyed.
