DEVELOPMENT LOAN

ENTHUSIASM SHOWN AT AUCKLAND (P.A.) AUCKLAND, June 2. Success is seen in Auckland for the 1950 National Development Loan. The District Treasury officer (Mr C. E. Tennent) said to-day that he thought there had not been so many inquiries or such enthusiasm since the 1945 Victory Loan. Already £70,00 has been received at the Treasury office, and Mr Tennent estimates that the total will reach £1,000,000 by the closing date. Auckland trading banks, too, have received many applications and inquiries. Thy had collected, to last night, £IOO,OOO. Four out of every five investors through the banks and the Treasury have made small investments.
