jFINE BUT COOL The weather in Ashburton to-day was fine, hut the temperature was keen. Readings taken at.the Domain at 9 o’clock this morning, covering the preceding 24 hours, showed a. maximum temperature of .50.8 against 72 the day before. The respective minimuffls were 51.0 and 52. The barometer this morning react 29.67 against 29.66 yesterday. No sun or rain was recorded yesterday. FAIR TO CLOUDY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, _at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: — General situation: There is a complex trough of low pressure from the west of the North Island over ' Cook Strait to the east of the South Island. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows: Light variable winds; weather becoming cloudy; some areas of drizzle or fog developing; temperatures cold. Further outlook: Fair to cloudy.
